Types Of Waste

Edit

The identification of your waste type is normally fairly straight forward, however it is important because certain waste types are prohibited from being placed in skip bins and also in many cases, the waste type affects the price of skip services. Therefore it is important to correctly specify your intended waste type because placement of other waste types may result in additional disposal charges after the skip is collected. The table below provides some guidelines. If you have any doubt as to which waste type your waste belongs, please feel free to call Minibin and our experienced staff will be happy to assist you.

When selecting a waste type (eg general waste) you must ensure that no other types of waste are placed in the bin. If this occurs, you will be liable to pay for the disposal cost of disposal as general waste. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for additional information.

The inclusion of any material containing asbestos, any form of insulation material, or any other dangerous material is strictly prohibited

maximum weight you can put in the bin - edit

This can vary by skip type, however a rule of thumb is that a 1 tonne per cubic metre up until a 3m3 skip. All skips larger than this can only be half filled with heavy material such as bricks and soil. If you intend to fill a skip with heavy material (soil, bricks, tiles etc) please specify this in the special instructions or call our office for advice. More information on skip types can be found here.
